Children and Therapy
Your children are important to you, and they are definitely important to us. Various stages of a child's development can make it difficult to adjust parenting styles. Add to that the challenges kids have in trying to express their feelings and stressful life circumstances, and both the child and parent can feel overwhelmed. Whether your child has experienced trauma or is having a difficult time adjusting to a new environment, the Center for Care & Counseling has counselors and therapists who specialize in evidence based therapeutic techniques for children.
Children cope with trauma, anxiety, and depression in their own unique way. Often, their expression of feelings looks very different from how an adult would. Through play and our safe, fun environment, children can begin to process the feelings they have and learn to communicate them effectively. Our goal is to strengthen the parent's relationship with their chid, supporting them as they communicate better with you and you them.

When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” ~ Fred Rogers
