About Us
From the Director
When I was ten years old my grandfather Mac started taking me to Beaver Dam Creek with him to do bank fishing for red breast, stump knockers, warmouth, catfish, bluegill, and an occasional red fin pike. He was in his 50’s and a farmer. He had a musky odor – not bad – just human that came from working and sweating under the Georgia sun. He was kind and gentle with me, his oldest grandson. He had a spot on the creek. His fishing hole. With cane pole, black flax line, a number 6 carlisle hook, a BB shot for weight, and catalpas for bait he fished the hole. I couldn’t be still or quiet. I had a good case of ADHD but they didn’t diagnosis that condition in 1956. He gently told me I could explore the creek. He cautioned me to watch for snakes and not get bitten. He told me I could go up or down the stream. He said if I stayed close to the stream, I could find my way back to him and the fishing hole.
At the Center for Care & Counseling we stay close to faith, hope, and love. They have a way of getting us where we need to be. If you choose to walk with your stream, we will help with faith, hope, and love. Together we’ll look for the place you desire to be.
